King Letsie III

King Letsie III is the reigning king of Lesotho. He was born David Mohato Bereng Seeiso on 17 July 1963. King Letsie III succeeded his father, Moshoeshoe II, when the later was forced into exile in 1990. His father was briefly restored in 1995 but soon died in a car crash in early 1996, and Letsie became king.

King Letsie III was educated in the United Kingdom at Ampleforth College (1977 - 1980). He also graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law from the National University of Lesotho (1980 - 1984). He then went on to study at the University of Bristol UK (1984 - 1986) and completed Diploma in English Legal Studies, the University of Cambridge where he studied Development Studies and the University of London where he studied Agricultural Economics. He completed his studies in 1989, when he returned to Lesotho. 

King Letsie married to Karabo Anna Motsoeneng on 18th February 2000 in Maseru, with whom he has two daughters and one son; Princess Mary Senate Mohato Seeiso, who was born on 7th October 2001, Princess 'Ma'Seeiso, who was born on 20th November 2004 and Prince Lerotholi David Mohato Bereng Seeiso who was born on 18th April 2007.
